Wapack Trail - June 19, 2004 (overnight)

Personality----
Smudge is like a puppy. He is extremely friendly and always wants to cuddle. His first "real" hike was on the Wapack trail with myself, Erik, Karen and Crumbs (my yellow lab). It was quite the long and steep hike, but Smudge hung in there, even though he was less than 3 months old. The pictures of him on the trail do not do him justice since I clipped him way down to help with heat and used san tan lotion on him so he didn't burn.

Smudge loved sitting around the campfire at night. Perhaps too much as he got very close one time and his eyelashes singed a bit. He lied around chewing his cud all night until it was time to go to sleep. He then followed Crumbs and I into the tent where he spent the night cuddled up with us.

Smudge is very vocal and "needs" to be next to me if he can see me. As long as he can hang out with me and/or the dogs he is in goat heaven. He will mix with the herd if need be but would rather be out with the humans just being himself.
